I’ve toyed around with gathering my thoughts in one place since 1 million years ago when I paid $1 million for an English degree I’ve never used professionally. Every time I think about writing something officially, I question what on earth I have to say that hasn’t been said 1 million times in 1 million ways. And then I talk myself out of it.
But here’s the deal. Writing helps me make sense of life, and I’m finding that more and more, life doesn’t make sense without some serious unpacking, digging in and repacking. So, what the hell? What’s the harm in putting it out there? I’m doing the work anyway. And it’s about time I make use of that degree I’m paying off for decades to come.
Since that English degree, I’ve acquired a Master’s Degree, a couple careers, a husband, a dog, a home, a business and two boy children. With every acquisition, I’ve learned bunches of new skills and moved further from the confidence of knowing it all. So trust me when I say there’s plenty of unpacking and repacking to go around. Thanks for coming on the trip with me.
